You're trusting me with things you may not have told anyone else. Here is exactly what I collect, why, and who else can see it — in plain English.

Who I am

Dating by Jessie is a one-person coaching practice run by Jessie Silver. This site is datingbyjessie.com. If you have a question about anything on this page, email jessie@datingbyjessie.com and I'll answer it myself.

What I collect

When you just browse

Nothing that identifies you. I don't run analytics, advertising pixels, or tracking cookies on this site. My web host records standard server logs — including IP addresses — for security and reliability, which is normal for any website.

When you download the free guide

If you request the free guide, I collect your first name and email address. I use them to send you the guide and occasional emails about dating, relationships, and my coaching work. My mailing list is run on Kit, which stores your name and email and handles sending.

Every email has a one-click unsubscribe link, and I'll never sell, rent, or share your address with anyone. Unsubscribing removes you from the list entirely — it doesn't affect anything else, and you're welcome to book a call afterward either way.

When you book a call

Booking happens through Calendly, embedded on this page. To book, you provide your name, email address, and answers to a short question about what you'd like to work on. Calendly sets its own cookies to run the booking widget.

When you pay

Payments are processed by Stripe. I never see or store your full card number — it goes directly to Stripe and never touches this site or my systems. What I receive is your name, email, the amount, and the last four digits of the card.

When we work together

Coaching sessions run over Zoom. I keep private notes on our work so I can actually be useful between sessions — patterns, goals, what we've tried. Any emails or voice notes you send me are stored in my email and messaging accounts.

I do not record sessions unless you ask me to, or I ask and you agree in advance.

Who else sees your information

I don't sell your data, rent it, or share it for advertising. Ever. But running this business means a handful of companies handle pieces of it on my behalf:

ServiceWhat it handlesTheir policy
Calendly Booking, your name and email, scheduling questions calendly.com/privacy
Stripe Card payments, billing details, fraud checks stripe.com/privacy
Zoom Video sessions zoom.us/privacy
Google Workspace My email and calendar policies.google.com/privacy
Kit Mailing list, guide delivery, and follow-up emails kit.com/privacy
Netlify Website hosting and server logs netlify.com/privacy

This site also loads fonts from Google Fonts and some images from Unsplash. Loading them means your browser makes a request to those services, which can see your IP address.

On confidentiality

What you tell me in a session stays between us. I won't repeat it, and I won't use your story in marketing, on social media, or as a testimonial without asking you first and getting a clear yes.

One honest caveat worth stating plainly: coaching is not therapy, and I am not a licensed mental-health professional. That means our conversations do not carry the legal privilege that protects conversations with a therapist, doctor, or lawyer. I treat them as confidential as a matter of principle — but the law does not treat them as privileged, and you should know that before you decide what to share.

How long I keep things

Ask me to delete anything that isn't legally required and I will.

Your rights

Wherever you live, you can email me and ask to see what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or get a copy. I'll respond within 30 days, and I won't charge you or treat you differently for asking.

California residents have specific rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know what personal information is collected and to request deletion. I do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

If you're in the UK or EU, you have rights under UK GDPR and GDPR, including access, correction, erasure, portability, and the right to object. My lawful basis is your consent when you book, and contract performance once we're working together.

Children

This service is for adults. I don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided information, email me and I'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

If I change how I handle your information, I'll update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant and I have your email, I'll tell you directly.
